The New York State Academy for Teaching and Learning -- this website features lesson plans and learning experiences for each of the NYS Learning Standards.
New York State Special Education Effective Practices -- The State Education Department’s Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities has undertaken several initiatives to identify effective practices in schools that have resulted in improving the quality of education for students with disabilities and increased achievement of students with disabilities. The purpose of identifying effective practices is to encourage districts to learn from each other and assist each other in improving their practices and/or procedures that result in improving the performance and achievement of students with disabilities.

Education Commission of the States -- Database includes comprehensive information on eight whole-school designs.
Empire State Partnerships -- ESP is dedicated to identifying developing and nurturing promising practices in arts education through support of collaborations between cultural organizations and schools. The arts promising practices site will be available in spring 2001. The site also provides information on reflective teaching practices trainings and professional development.

Freeport Intermediate School, Texas--A national network of middle school reformers named Freeport Intermediate a School To Watch—one of four in the nation to receive the honor for their commitment to academic excellence, responsiveness to the needs of young adolescents, and high expectations for all students. Due to the schools high achievement it was labeled as a "recognized" school under the Texas accountability system.
Hamilton Fish Institute -- The Institute serves as a national resource to test the effectiveness of school violence prevention programs and to develop more effective strategies.  The Institute synthesizes and analyzes existing models and research on school violence prevention with the goal of determining what works and what can be replicated to reduce violence in America's schools and their communities.
