Criteria for Most Significantly Improved Schools Surveyed (2001-2002):
Those schools had a
consistent trend data from 2000-2002 (i.e. no negative year-to-year decreases)
in the percentage of students scoring at/above Level 3 on the 8th grade math
test and an average gain from 2000-2002 of 24%* or more of students scoring
at/above level 3. (based on
aggregated data)
* 24% was derived by calculating one standard deviation
above the average gain.
7% of schools have adopted a comprehensive school reform program (e.g. Effective Schools)
